The Praxis UK Team

Praxis UK currently has two permanent members of staff, six part-time volunteers and a pool of over thirty consultants from the South. We also work collaboratively with our three offices in India. Our UK staff are based at our office in central London.

    Country Manager

    Josh has been applying his background in anthropology and poverty reduction to participatory development since 1995. He joined Praxis UK in 2008 after four years at the International HIV/AIDS Alliance. He has also worked as a social development advisor with Oxfam, DFID, Save the Children, and the World Bank. He has worked extensively throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, the Pacific, South Asia and the Balkans and has authored several leading toolkits on participatory approaches.

    Programme Officer

    Sowmyaa began as a volunteer in development related work a decade ago whilst pursuing relevant professional degrees in this field. Her areas of interest and expertise include poverty, non-formal education, water, sanitation and hygiene, medical waste, menstrual hygiene, gender, urban development and rights. She also has over five years of training experience in spoken communication skills and facilitated several workshops to this end.
